Barely Legal and Likwid in the Lab Mumbai

Mixmag and BUDX are proud to partner on a groundbreaking new Lab destination touching down this fall: The Lab Mumbai.

Set to take place at the intimate space of AntiSOCIAL, located in the warehouse in Todi Mill in Mumbai, The Lab Mumbai will showcase some of the world’s most exciting talents of house, techno and other electronic varieties.

Next Thursday, December 12, Barely Legal will be providing us with her eclectic UK sounds that ranges from bass and techno to d'n'b and beyond. Also joining her is Likwid in the latest edition of this new Lab series.

When it comes to performing as a multi-genre DJ, very few get it as right as Barely Legal. The UK stalwart has been a staple of the scene for years and whether it's UKG, grime, jungle, dubstep, d'n'b or more recently techno and electro, Chloé Robinson's finger is always on the pulse. Her record label, Pretty Weird has put out records by the likes of Chimpo, Silkie and Near and she will build on that in 2020.

The imprint has hosted its parties in fabric within the heralded room two and over the last year she's been taking them on tour all around Europe. The next Pretty Weird bonanza comes back to home turf and will take place at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London on February 1. With the heavy backing of Four Tet, you can't really go wrong and even though she's been around for a while, it feels like we're still only seeing the tip of what Barely Legal is capable of.

Likwid is a staple of the Mumbai party scene. For over a decade he's been at the forefront of the DIY movement, throwing parties and engaging with the community. No location is out of reach and Arnab Banerjee has put on numerous parties in and around Mumbai, including events at a heritage fort and underground parking lot. DJs like Alexander Robotnik, DJ Bone and Kevin Saunderson have performed and the best is yet to come.

Likwid's sound focuses on the heavier side of techno with a pace that is matched by the weight the music possesses. As the artistic director of KittySu, one of the biggest and most popular venue chains in the country, Likwid is a name that almost everyone in the Indian scene knows and his Lab debut is a highly anticipated affair.
