Armin van Buuren releases 10-minute meditation routine

Armin van Buuren’s music is synonymous with big room raves and raucous parties, but in a new clip released from the Dutch-born producer, he gives fans a taste of something different.

Armin van Buuren’s Meditation & Mindfulness Journey is a 10-minute walkthrough from the DJ recounting his journey in meditation and a guide to mindfulness released via the meditation app Insight Timer.

The clip uses a soundbed of ambient music created by van Buuren while he speaks over the top documenting his journey into meditation and mindfulness.

“Meditation, for me, is a moment for myself and a way for me to deal with the cloud in my head”, the DJ says. “Every day, I check in with myself.

“If I listen to my breath and just focus on my breathing, immediately my mind starts to wander. Now I understand that’s ok and just let the thoughts be. I make a note in my head and bring my focus back on my breathing. That’s always my anchor.”

Shortly into the 10-minute clip, van Buuren begins to guide the meditation process, which involves breathing focus and mindfulness of thoughts.

“I wanted to share this with my fans, so I recorded this meditation for others to practice to so that they, as well, may find balance.”

In July, Ushuaïa Ibiza announced that, for the first time in history, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta will play a b2b set at the iconic White Isle club. The pair went toe to toe on July 11 for two hours in a one-off performance.
