Arca has released a new contribution to her KICK series, ‘Cayó’.
Landing alongside a brand new music video, Arca’s latest offering sees the singer, producer and multifaceted artist head back to a period of self-reflection when she first created the track in 2020.
The single originally premiered on Arca’s DIVA_EXPERIMENTAL FM Twitch stream in early 2020, featuring additional production from Tim Hecker.
“It’s about exploring self-states, non-binary modes of relating of that which is ‘other’, creating new intersectional ways of mediating identity through exploring sensuality and heightened communion with the sensual embodiment of self,” she said on ‘Cayó’.

The track adds to Arca’s ‘KICK’ series, a project created through lockdown and released across five parts, four of which landing as a surprise release at the start of December.
‘KICK ii’, ‘KicK iii’, ‘kick iiii’ and ‘kiCK iiiii’ all dropped in a mammoth release at the end of 2021. The series has now been compiled into a boxset due for release this coming May.
All four albums plus her previously released ‘KiCk i’ will be included in a limited edition number of KICK boxsets coming on May 20, which include all records on wax vinyl.
Adding to an enormous year for the singer and producer, Arca also opens up her digital webstore MUTANT. The store will feature everything from clothing, to technology, to art, according to the website.
“MUTANT represents the product division of Arca, a playful experiment in world-building via design, technology, and art. Our initial jersey-focused launch features legacy graphics, paintings, and album related imagery - all available for pre-order over a one-month selling window,” reads MUTANT’s website.
