A collection of Andrew Weatherall’s music gear has gone up for auction
Items for sale include vintage synths, sequencers, pedals and more

A collection of Andrew Weatherall’s original studio gear has gone up for auction via Soundgas.
12 pieces of music gear appear in the collection, including vintage synths, sequencers, and pedals, all being sold on behalf of the late DJ and producer’s family.
The auction is live now via Soundgas, self-described specialists in “rare, vintage, and unusual recording gear and musical instruments”, and will end on Sunday, May 11, at 11:PM BST.

The collection includes a Roland Rhythm TR-77 drum machine, a Moog Rogue synth, two Roland keyboards, a Sequential Circuits Pro synth, a Tech 21 Comptortion pedal, and more.
“We have kept [Andrew’s] whole archive/possessions in storage, with plans for display/exhibition in the near future,” his brother, Ian, wrote alongside the auction.
“Musical equipment does not appreciate being stored away, unused, for great lengths of time... and with that in mind we have instructed Soundgas, as experts in their field, to help us rehome Andrew's collection.”

Ian noted that it’s important to the family that the equipment continues to be used to “create, push boundaries, but above all, see the light of day, and be cherished by people who recognise Andrew's contributions to music and beyond".
Bidding commenced on Friday, May 2, with some pieces of equipment – including the Roland Juno-60 keyboard and Latronic Notron MIDI Step Sequencer – fetching bids of more than £1,000 each so far.
“This is what Andrew would have wanted, so if you are successful in purchasing anything sold here, please cherish the fact that you own something of Andrew's,” Ian wrote.
