Amsterdam’s Shelter to reopen after month-long renovation works

Amsterdam’s Shelter is set to reopen in February, following a month-long renovation.

Situated in the basement of A'DAM TOWER, Shelter now boasts an additional club room and a full redesign in a “major” renovation project, according to Resident Advisor, as well as the addition of a full LED ceiling.

The Amsterdam-based club closed on January 1, following a New Year’s Eve and extended New Year’s Day party. The club is slated to reopen on February 9 with a huge celebratory launch party, though the line-up is still unannounced.

“February 2024 marks the eagerly awaited reopening of Shelter to the public,” the club announced on Instagram last week.

“From door hosts to DJs and bar staff to managers, the excitement in our hearts and the spring in our steps are ready to kick off our official program. You ready for this?”

Calling it “the next chapter of Shelter”, the team behind the club explained that the renovation realises their vision “both behind the booth and on the dancefloor”.

Shelter is set to host Perc U Late and CRUSH nights, as well as “meticulously” curated parties from CLUB.RECORD and Picnic, both “cherished long-time friends of the Shelter family”.

The first few events throughout February see the likes of Black Loops, Jennifer Loveless, DASCO, Gerd Janson, Krystal Klear, BELLA, and Guti take to the newly renovated space.

Speaking to Resident Advisor, Shelter’s general manager Zep Fransen said that he feels Amsterdam “needs this change”, adding: “The extra event space is going to play an important role”.

“I can't wait for that first song to be played and for everyone to see our colourful rebranding reflected in our new LED ceiling,” he explained.
