AIM Awards reveals 2023 nominations, including I. JORDAN, Overmono and Kelela
The ceremony takes place this September at London’s Roundhouse
The AIM Independent Music Awards has revealed the artists in the running to win big at this year’s ceremony, which takes place at London’s Roundhouse on September 26, 2023.
Those nominated this year include Shygirl, Kelela, Overmono, I. JORDAN, Four Tet, and more amongst a range of singers, dance music acts, and rappers.
The award ceremony - which celebrates the best in independent music in the UK - sees the return of the ‘Best Independent Album’ category this year including Little Simz for her latest project ‘No Thank You’, The xx’s Oliver Sim for ‘Hideous Bastard’, and Kelela with her February record ‘Raven’.

Also nominated for ‘UK Independent Breakthrough’ this year is Ezra Collective, I. JORDAN, Overmono, Shygirl, and Suki Waterhouse.
“This year’s AIM Independent Music Award nominees represent our diverse, dynamic and inclusive community, truly showcasing the incredible range of talent across all genres of the UK music scene,” said Silvia Montello, CEO at AIM.
“As the indie sector continues to grow, we look forward to celebrating the dedication of labels, artists, and their teams on the 26 September.”

The running for ‘Best Independent EP/Mixtape’ features the likes of ENNY with ‘We Go Again’, and yunè pinku with her recently released ‘BABYLON IX’.
In the remix category, Sega Bodega is nominated for his rework of Björk and Shygirl’s ‘Ovuke’, Jamie xx is up for his edit of Oliver Sim’s ‘GMT’, and Boys Noize are nominated for their remix of ‘Wolf’ by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Soulwax and Nu:Tone are also up for awards in this category.
The 24th edition of the AIM Awards takes place on September 26, 2023, at London’s Roundhouse celebrating ‘independent labels, artists and entrepreneurs’. Check out the full list of nominations here.
