ABBA's new music to arrive in "September or October" of 2019

Back in April of last year, Swedish pop sensations ABBA announced that they’ve written and recorded their first new music in 37 years.

Widely recognized as one of the most successful pop groups in history, this is the first time Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad (ABBA - an acronym for their first names) have reunited since they split in 1982.

The new songs, titled 'I Still Have Faith In You' and 'Don’t Shut Me Down', are for an "avatar tour project", as Bjorn Ulvaeus said an actual live show featuring the members was "not going to happen".

Ulvaeus has recently told Variety that at least one of the new songs will emerge "in September or October". Having announced the new music a year ago, there have been numerous delays with the release of these two much-anticipated tracks which has kept die-hard ABBA fans on the edge of their seats.

In an interview with Denmark's Ekstra Bladet tabloid, Ulvaeus admitted that “It takes an extremely long time” to make a video with the avatars of the group members, adding “it has been delayed for too long".

While two of the songs have been completed, ABBA's Benny Andersson said in a different interview that the group could very well record a third song as well. “We may do another one when the show [launches], and that’s gonna take another six – eight months”, he tells Variety.
