Cocoon returned to Amnesia on Monday, and the Sven Väth-helmed party kicked off its 18th Ibiza season in typically spectacular fashion.

Few DJs are more at home on the Amnesia Terrace than Sven Väth. Opening on Adam Port’s edit of ‘Senhor Doutor’, he worked the heaving dancefloor with a slew of fierce techno, following on from DJ Koze’s trippier exploits.

In the club room Nina Kraviz stole the show with deft mixing and forays into spiky acid, while Dorian Paic and Ilario Alicante both brought their A-game, the latter providing a special moment when drawing for Robert Miles’ trance classic ‘Children’.
