Junction 2 launches virtual event

J2v takes place on July 11 and 12 and will feature four stages, films, panel discussions and a line-up including a swathe of Detroit artists curated by Carl Craig. Full info here.

Defected partners with Bridges For Music and launches Afro House label

The house label sponsor five students every six months at the Bridges Academy in Langa, South Africa.

It's also created Sondela, a label A&R'd by Sef Kombo, who is a key player on London's Afro House scene. All profits from Sondela will go to Bridges For Music.

Nyege Nyege will take place in 2020

The Ugandan festival has launched a 'hybrid festival of the arts' for this year's edition, which will take place in IRL and URL in early September. The line-up features a typically far-out selection of African artists, collectives and international guests. Full info here.
