In a rare interview, dance music provocateurs Two Shell appear on the latest cover of Mixmag and reveal the (real?) faces behind the masks. Not any regular Mixmag cover, the UK-hailing duo quip about their history of oddball projects that have built them a cult-like fanbase in recent years and a reputation for controversy, from selling 'boring rocks' on the internet (which fans later discovered to have USBs inside), to rumours of sending DJ doppelgängers to step in for them under the cloak.

Two Shell’s sound has developed from well-rounded club stylings on labels like Livity Sound to their more experimental productions featuring a range of playful samples and, more recently, AI superstar deepfakes including Frank Ocean and Taylor Swift, while still carrying the same bassweight from their original productions. Previous mixes include their Boiler Room debut, which saw them accused of playing a pre-recorded mix via surrogates, and their trippy appearance on The Lot Radio featuring an animated version of the elusive duo.

While Two Shell have, predictably, not provided a tracklist for their Cover Mix, you can expect a typical range of pop deconstructions and silly edits over the span of 90 minutes. And, who knows, maybe a couple of unreleased tracks and secret collabs in the fold.
