Originally winning props for their viral mixtapes of chopped and screwed beats, 18+ are just about to drop their second album proper on fabric-run Houndstooth. Recorded between Justin and Samia’s respective residencies of Berlin and Honolulu, the album uses samples of phone calls and field recordings, their languid production style and vocals recalling everything from Tricky’s paranoid take on hip hop to Warpaint covering MIA records. One of 2016’s most singular records.
