Ali Love and Nicky Night Time curate a playlist of winter blues soothing sounds
Ali Love, Nicky Night Time and Breakbot recently teamed up for the collaborative release ‘Ubiquity’ via Sweat It Out and Music To Dance To.
An international affair combining the talents of in-demand UK singer and songwriter Ali Love, genre-hopping Australian producer Nicky Night Time and French touch favourite Breakbot, it’s a disco-fuelled banger that arrives perfectly timed to raise our spirits in the depths of lockdown winter. (Or — if you’re in the relatively COVID-free Australia, to dance freely to in the sun.)

Speaking about how the track came together, Ali Love said: “‘Ubiquity’ started its life in Australia with Nicky Night Time as a drum and guitar track. Then made its way to London where I added electric bass and vocals very early in the morning. I recall there were about 8 Japanese girls in my flat for some reason, so you could say that really added to the song’s vibe. You can feel there’s a party happening. The tune then travelled to LA where, by chance, Nicky drafted in Breakbot, who wrote the amazing string and horn parts, and sent the song into the stratosphere. The stars have aligned and the vibe is ubiquitous."
Nicky Night Time added: “It was a love project really and I think we felt it was a cool thing just to put out into the world between the three of us amigos.”
To mark the release, Ali Love and Nicky Night Time have curated a special playlist for us filled with funk and disco classics. It’s perfect for soothing winter blues and uplifting summer fun alike.

Speaking about the playlist, they said: "These are our funk favourites at the moment but it’s always changing! Our personal moments from the list are Kleer's ‘I Love to Dance’ and Rufus & Chaka Khan's ‘Any Love’, the uplift in the pre is epic! Then lastly Joey Negro's Disco Mix of ‘Ride Like the Wind’ by Christopher Cross, this will never let you down in a crowd setting, a house party or just a party for one to soothe the soul."
