Impact is a series that's dedicated to profiling raw talent that's about to turn dance music on its head. Next up: Paris, IL
Two creative directors, Guillaume Berg and Virgil Abloh, may well be the newest and coolest pair in dance music. Draped head-to-toe in the most essential new threads and bringing forward a breadth of musical knowledge that spans genres and generations, they are the definition of on-point and together they're stronger than ever.
Guillaume Berg is the creative director of Bromance Records and anyone who's been familiar with the French electronic scene over the last decade will recognise the long, white-haired prince from his association with Brodinski and the selectors taking over Paris. Having been at the forefront of the various revolutions taking over the capital, Berg has always DJed but more importantly, he's been in the frame to make sure that his artists' music is heard and visions realised.
Similarly, Abloh has the USA on lockdown. Having formed a close alliance with Kanye West before he even released 'College Dropout', the designer and fashion entrepreneur has gone on to be the driving creative force behind Yeezy's gigs, tour merchandise and overall profile. As creative director at DONDA, West's agency, Abloh has helped to shape one of the most important careers in music and his own fashion brand OFF White is one of the most lauded and sought after in the world. As Flat White, he plays as some of the coolest events on the circuit, with festivals, secret club shows and fashion events being his locations of choice.
