Meet ALANDRIA, the emerging duo rising through the dance music ranks
We get to know the Los Angeles-based duo, who tell us about their “creative language” when producing together and stirring emotions with their lusicous, vocal-led house music
There are many shades to the house music spectrum. Los Angeles-based duo ALANDRIA aim for the emotional reaches of the sound. After meeting at a nightclub and bonding over their shared love of dance music, the pair joined forces to create their musical project last year, a link-up between two like-minded dance music heads. "That shared passion became the foundation of our relationship," they explain.
But ALANDRIA was formed "long before we ever stepped into the studio together," they claim, as both performance and music-trained artists grew up "surrounded by music and art, and electronic music played a huge role in shaping who we are". As their connection grew, so did their longing to create music together, and so ALANDRIA was born.
"What started as two people making music eventually evolved into one shared creative vision," they explain. Now, in the year since they came together under the moniker, ALANDRIA have hit milestone after milestone. First joining their debut festival bill at Insomniac’s sold-out Into The Horizon Festival in their home city, where they performed to roaring crowds, and later dropping their catchy vocal house cut ‘Explicit’, which quickly garnered over 70,000 streams following its release.
With a firm sonic identity that blends their own lofty vocals with melodic techno and clean percussion, ALANDRIA’s style of dance music is made with one goal in mind: to tug at your heartstrings. We sit down with the emerging duo to find out more about their ascent, and where they’re headed next. Check it out below.
What’s your mission statement as a duo? What do you want to be known for?
Our goal isn’t to make songs. Our goal is to build a world people want to live inside.
Our mission is simple: we want people to feel something before they dance. We believe dance music has the power to tell stories and create lasting memories. Beyond releasing records, we’re building an immersive creative universe where music, fashion, visuals, and storytelling all exist together. If people remember ALANDRIA for creating emotional experiences that stay with them long after the music stops, we’ve done our job.
For those who may not know you, can you describe your style?
We describe our sound as emotional and euphoric. We blend melodic techno, trance, progressive house, and melodic house into records that are designed to feel like a journey. Every song has movement and energy, but there’s always an emotional thread running through it. We want listeners to close their eyes and feel like they’re stepping into another world.
How do your personalities and styles complement each other when performing?
Our relationship gives us a level of trust that’s hard to replicate. We know each other’s strengths, instincts, and creative language without having to say much. Diego naturally gravitates toward the technical side, while Noelle brings a deep understanding of movement, performance, and visual storytelling. On stage, those worlds come together naturally because we’re always creating as one.
You share a lot of videos working together in the studio. What is your production process like as a duo?
Every record starts with emotion. Once we know how we want people to feel, we’ll usually begin building a melody or synth lead that captures that emotion. From there, we develop the concept, write the lyrics, and build the arrangement piece by piece. We both produce, so every song is a true collaboration, and we don’t consider it finished until we can imagine playing it live and feeling exactly what we want the audience to experience.
Your latest track ‘Explicit’ came out last month. What has the reception been like to that?
The response has been incredibly encouraging. Seeing people connect with the energy of the record and share it with their own audiences has been really rewarding. As a newer project, every release is another opportunity to introduce people to the ALANDRIA universe, and it’s exciting to see listeners embracing not just the music, but the vision behind it. It’s motivated us to keep pushing creatively.
Who and what are you currently inspired by?
We’re constantly inspired by artists like ARTBAT, Adriatique, Cassian, Meduza, Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren, and Kaskade, but inspiration comes from far more than music. Film, architecture, fashion, travel, and contemporary art all influence what we create. We believe a true artist can find inspiration in almost anything, and we try to bring those influences into every release and every visual.
What do you have coming up next?
We’re entering one of the most exciting chapters of our journey. We have new music on the way, including collaborations we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re looking forward to performing internationally for the first time. Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a huge milestone for us, and it’s another step toward building ALANDRIA into a global creative brand. We feel like we’re only at the beginning, and that’s what makes this chapter so exciting.
