Get to know Tom Misch

Now, with his new EP ‘Reverie’, the South Londer has taken on most of the singing duties himself, concentrating on writing music he can recreate with his band. “With ‘Beat Tape 2’, I just kind of made it but stupidly didn’t think about being able to play it live,” he says. “Now I’m always thinking, ‘Can my bass player do this live? Can the drummer play this?’”

But he’s still producing more solely dancefloor-focused material. Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out his phone and starts playing a beat he’s recently made. “Listen to this, it’s kind of textured, kind of like the stuff Lone makes,” he says. “I’m really enjoying the DJ side of things too.” Is there anything Misch can’t do?
