If there’s anything West African or Nigerian about the way I dress it’s got to be my jewellery. In West Africa and Nigeria, when you’re born your parents and grandparents shower you with jewellery and gold.My mum gave me these gold necklaces and I also have a silver 3D print waves ring that a friend bought me from Amsterdam.

I first started to take an interest in clothes in my secondary school days. I was the only tomboy in the whole girls’ school, so my look was always different to everyone else’s. When it was ‘own clothes’ day, I would come in wearing Lot 29 tracksuits and people were just like, ‘what?’ I don’t think Lot 29 is around any more but it was mainly streetwear. I had loads of Lot 29 tracksuits with the crazy Looney Tunes print.

In terms of high street stores, I like TK Maxx. People usually go online nowadays but there’s something great about going in there and seeing what you can find. I got my trainers there not long ago. And I love Nike Town in London. All my tracksuits and footwear comes from there. I love a lot of the collaborations Nike do with different brands and designers.

I like Liam Hodges’ stuff for the mix of graphics and patterns, and then Alexander Wang, because the clothes are put together so well. He’ll make a tracksuit that you could go out to dinner in.

My favourite place to shop would probably be ASOS, just because it’s affordable. I’ve been going to ASOS for years for everyday wear. They’ve got style and I can afford it. Bershka’s super-stylish and affordable too, and I get more of my onstage stuff from there.

I really love 070 Shake’s style, man! I like how she carries herself and lets her personality come through in her style. She experiments a lot and mixes old-school rock ’n’ roll swag with modern swag. It’s quite dark, but it suits her, from her hair to her tattoos.

I definitely dress differently off-stage. I wouldn’t wear this [outfit, right]; it’s too flashy. I don’t really like to be looked at so I’d be in darker colours and I’m always in tracksuits and hoodies. But on stage I like being in bright colours.

This jacket was tailor-made by my friend’s mum, who’s from China. She had this jacket on and I was like, ‘Your jacket is bad.’ I’m going to try and get her mum to make more stuff.

I’m a sneakerhead, so my feet game always has to be fresh. Always. These are Nike Air Max Plus 97s that I’m wearing right now, with a flame on. I feel like these give me superpowers! I’ve got around 80 to 90 pairs of trainers, but if I really like one particular pair I’ll wear them for like a month and not really care about the others. I’m Nike all the way, though.

I’m not massively into brands but I do really like A–Cold–Wall. I like their aerodynamic feel and the fact that their clothes are unisex as well. Anyone can rock A-Cold-Wall and it’ll look nice.

I’d describe my style as ‘scruffy clean’. I don’t like to look too clean – hobo swag, that’s my thing.
