Six unmissable acts to check out at Bass Coast 2025
From first time appearances to returning favourites, here are the sets you can't miss at West Canada's beloved bass affair
Next month, a quiet valley in Merritt, British Columbia, will be transformed for three days and nights into a sprawling expanse of dance music stages and immersive art installations — welcoming some 6,000 bass music fans on site to experience peak soundsystem culture against a staggering backdrop. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Western Canada's rolling rocky mountains, pine trees, and the winding Coldwater River, Bass Coast Festival returns for its 17th edition from July 11 - 14, bringing with it an expertly-curated line-up of artists from across the globe.
Bass Coast has tapped the likes of BAMBII, Djrum, INVT, Sally C, Rosa Pistola, OAKK, Neffa-T, Gabrielle Kwarteng, and plenty more to perform across its four uniquely-designed stages this year, rounding out its 2025 line-up with an equal spread of both local legends and international heroes. On top of an extensive music programme, Bass Coast prides itself on the sharp curation of its art programme, where interactive installations are at play alongside some quality large-scale pieces throughout the site, which transform as day slowly turns to night.
From first time appearances to returning favourites, we've zeroed in on six sets that you can't miss at West Canada's beloved bass affair next month, each crystallising the spirit, sound, and musical risk-taking that Bass Coast has become known for throughout the years. Check them out below.
Nala
Miami-based Nala broke through with her viral track 'Me Me Me' alongside Catz 'n Dogz in 2023 – a track that she teased during her first Bass Coast performance. Fresh off the back of high-profile appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Portola, Nala has launched her own imprint, Mi Domina, spotlighting Riot Grrrl-meets-club-focused projects, and garnered some 10 million streams across the web. Now landing her sophomore set at Bass Coast, you can expect a heady ride through cathartic bass music.
Ternion Sound
On the final leg of their farewell tour, bass trio Ternion Sound bring a decade of boundary-pushing sound design to Bass Coast. Ever since their impromptu 2016 debut at Minnesota's Infrasound Festival, the trio – made up of solo producers Apparition, Johnny Foreplay, and Nostalgia – have fused UK bass heritage with influence from their home in Minneapolis. Having released on respected labels like Deep Dark & Dangerous and performed at festivals worldwide, Ternion Sound have made bass music history, and their first (and last) Bass Coast performance will be one of the final chances to witness that legacy in real time. This emotional farewell marks the end of an era, and it's absolutely not one to be missed.
Bradley Zero
Bradley Zero is the kind of selector that reminds you why vinyl culture will never die. As the founder of Rhythm Section International, he's been shaping London’s underground dance music scene for more than 15 years – first with his seminal Peckham Pool Club nights that have gone down in history as a reminiscent era for the south London scene, later as a label boss who has helped to launch the careers of artists like Chaos In The CBD and Vels Trio.
As a DJ, Bradley Zero winds through deep house, disco, and dub cuts with impeccable precision. You won't want to miss this craftsman behind the booth on Bass Coast's final day.
Conducta
The crown prince of NUKG returns to Bass Coast this year, and if his 2024 set is anything to go by, you're in for another treat. Returning in 2025, this time with a headline performance on the festival's opening night, Conducta brings technical wizardry and infectious energy back to Bass Coast with his fun and effortless fusion of new wave garage and jungle-infused rhythms.
Over half a decade worth of productions on his Kiwi Rekords label showcase why Conducta is one of the best to do it in the UK right now, leading a legion of emerging bass stars into new territory. Expect pure energy from start to finish.
Mr. Carmack
Mr. Carmack operates in his own universe, with an approach to production and live performance that leaves his style of dance music undefinable. From hip hop-influence to styles leaning into future bass, Mr. Carmack masterfully blends global sounds that go beyond your classic club earworms, having worked with everyone from Kehlani to A. CHAL. Mr. Carmack's Friday night set is one to tick off the bucket list.
Madam X
Over the past decade, DJ, producer and label boss Madam X has become a soldier of the UK's bass scene with her trailblazing KAIZEN imprint, giving a platform to innovative new dubstep and 140 artists. Backed by support from Jamie xx to James Blake, her late-night journey at Bass Coast will see her return to the festival for a third time, bringing razor-sharp blends and playful energy to the stage.
