Cover Star Selects is the monthly playlist where we ask our cover stars to curate a playlist of their favourite tracks. Whether they’re new bangers or beloved classics, a new selector takes over the reigns at the start of the month. This month is: Claude VonStroke.

The Dirtybird boss has carefully curated some of the hottest tracks in his record bags, including classics from Carl Craig and Isolee alongside label heaters and from some of the imprint's hottest stars.

Check it out below and see what the man himself had to say about the tracks he's chosen.

The new issue of Mixmag is out now and you can grab it here

'The Choice' (Ms. Bunty Vocal) Catz n Dogz "Another solid record from our great friends, Catz n Dogz. I Love the drum kits used here and the jackin' vibes really get the floor moving. Sounds like a classic."

'Holt 88' Shack Bass "This is the slinkiest, grooviest track of the year. We have been importing a lot of tunes from Brazil lately on DIRTYBIRD and this certainly sits at the top of the heap."

'Say Something' (Paul Woolford Remix) Nasser Baker "Every couple years Paul Woolford blows everyone away with a special original or remix. Keep tabs on this one to be his most hyped track for 2018. Much respect! Love the retro vibes."

'Capricorn' (Claude VonStroke Remix) Elderbrook "Brand new remix from me that has been working both across the pond and locally here in the US as well."

'Evenue' Chambray "Not the newest from Chambray, but if you want to hear a cool record that has its own distinctive signature artist vibe and amazing changes throughout its progress - this is the one."

'Beau Mot Plague' Isolee "I have this on my list as one of the most influential tracks of my career. It was a big underground hit way back when and it's still great."

'Dopamin' Robag Whrume "Another classic that helped define what Dirtybird was going to become back in the early 2000s. Robag has the best mix of light and dark here - a combination of relaxing ethereal melody mixed with hard hitting squelches."

'Crushing Down' Fabricio Pecanha, Prolla "One of the really stand out tracks from my Live in Detroit Mix Compilation that I released earlier in the year. Always great to go home and play the Movement festival!"

'Blip Bloop' Lenny Kiser "Straight banger for the rave. Everything in here works, sounds like classic Dirtybird track."

'It's Okay' Eskuche "This producer's name has started bubbling up on LOT of new tunes. Heads are turning. One to watch perhaps? Very fun and funky stuff."

'Despeirta' (Harry Romero Remix) Frank Nitty ft Melody "I feel like Harry Romero is on fire in the remix category right now, especially because all of his stuff is so funky. I'm liking this even with the vocal. There is a dub available as well."

'Falling Up' (Carl Craig 2013 Remaster) Theo Parish & Carl Craig "Just another unnecessary reminder that Carl Craig and Theo Parish are both amazing badass producers. As far as I know this is their only collaboration."

'Thumbs' Steve Darko "Everyone plays the A-side called Switch it up (including me, I love it), but in the long run this will be the one that still gets played in 5 years. So funky."

'In The Beginning' (There Was Jack) (Illyus & Barrientos Remix) Chuck Roberts & Monique Bingham "Classic refix on a VERY old house vocal that keeps resurfacing for what seems like 30 years. Even so, this is done extremely well and nobody can deny its fun and it works!!"

'Waremouse' Ft River Magik Wyatt Marshall & Fritz Carlton "Very strong track by my radio show producer and studio man Wyatt Marshall!! And of course we love Fritz too. Guaranteed party starter. Great vocal."

'Pirate Jack' Hatiras "Pulling from some familiar funk themes this one does everything right for me. Off the new Haters album out now."
