Carl Cox
Get locked in for an hour of tech from the master
Potential burnout is his reason for cutting down on gigs, but that's easily forgiven when thinking about everywhere he's been in his career. From El Salvador to Australia, he's been all over the world playing events such as Time Warp, Ultra Music Festival and Stereosonic. In London he runs his Intec night at fabric with Jon Rundell, and the label of the same name has hosted releases by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth and Deetron.
Being his final year at Space, we thought it was only right to have him grace our June issue cover, with him also heading to fabric for a special Thursday night Mixmag Live. That entailed a set filled with house and techno classics, having the London club's Room One bouncing all night long.
As well as that, Cox put together a mix as part of his cover. Exclusively Intec material, tracks from himself, Jon Rundell, Copy Paste Soul, Sidney Charles and Nicole Moudaber all feature and it's tech for those who like it tough. Where his Mixmag Live set was filled with tunes primed for euphoric moments, the tracks chosen for this have a darker edge and could really do some damage. Get locked in for over an hour of moody cuts courtesy of a true master.
