Where to start with Coxy? He's done so much, it's almost impossible to bunch together all of his achievements and accolades from the past 20-plus years. We don't like to dish out the word 'legend' too much, but we think this guy is fully deserving of a such a title.
Not only is he a top-notch selector, plying his trade at anywhere from fabric to Space Ibiza, he's Mr Charismatic and anyone that's ever seen him play knows that he carries out his job with that recognisable, beaming smile across his face.
Balearic beats, acid house, jungle, techno: he's been through them all. Free parties, Fantazia raves, Ibiza superclubs: he's played them all. He even had a few bangers in the 90s like 'I Want You (Forever)' and 'The Latin Theme'. You get the point - he's a hero and one of the most well-known DJs in dance music, not just in the UK but all around the world. It's no wonder Naomi Campbell, P Diddy and Dr Dre are fans.
But it's his presence in Ibiza that arguably gives Carl the iconic status he holds. For 15 years, he's held his Tuesday night residency at Space, inviting the likes of Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem, Francois K, Heidi and Monika Kruse to the Playa d'en Bossa club. The owner, Pepe Rosello, wanted him onboard so much in the beginning that a number of changes to the club were made under Carl's orders. Rosello's ownership of Space comes to and this summer, though, and Carl's Music Is Revolution parties come to and end as he waves goodbye to the place he's called home for 15 years. He might be slowing down, but he's made it clear it won't be the end of his run on the White Isle.
