Sound engineers being shit towards female DJs
In an ideal world, all musicians would be treated with equal respect. Sadly, there's an ignorant minority that seem to be intent on going against this. Sexism in the music industry has been well reported, from Björk writing an open letter on the subject to Jackmaster sharing his views on the matter. London DJ and NTS resident Throwing Shade is the latest to raise the issue, singling out sound guys at a venue in France for being, well, shit. "When sound guys don't give a crap and you can tell it's because you're a female," she tweeted, before posting a video about the situation. In this, she describes said sound guys as being "incompetent" and highlights the fact one of the CDJs wasn't connected to the mixer. Quite the clanger, eh. A male DJ played after her and it turns out the engineers were on hand to sort everything out. Hmmmm.
