Forever.

Today Mixmag honors one of the most iconic figures in dance music, Mr. Larry Levan, with a special photo gallery.

Levan, who devoted his life to values in love, expression and really fucking amazing music, passed away 25 years ago today.

With his decade-long residency at the legendary Paradise Garage, it was Larry's sole (dare we say soul?) responsibility to create the atmosphere of the epic, sweaty, dance party nights, maintain the energy among thousands of ravenous clubbers and educate New York City with his musical knowledge and untamed spirit.

Paradise Garage, who's venue has just announced demolition, brought in fans from around the world and creative minds like Madonna, Basquiat, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. No one could deny Levan had a magic touch, one that attracted and welcomed people from every scope.

It was all about the groove, that flame, that made you want to scream and shout and dance until you dropped! Larry Larry, keep the fire burning! We're missing you under that disco ball.
