The tenacious beachside event nails down its second edition
Amongst the tidal wave of events which make their way to South Beach for for Miami Music Week, Rapture Electronic Music Festival stands tall with its head above the flood and its eyes and ears locked in with some of the most noteworthy names in electronic music.
Taking place on March 22, the six-stage event set up shop at the city’s Historic Virginia Key Beach Park - zeroing in on themes of human connection, ocean conservation and top-notch house and techno.
Mixmag’s Lab Miami had the pleasure of setting up shop at the beachfront festival with two exceptional and sunny live streams of Ibiza regular tiNi and MANFLY (one part M.A.N.D.Y and one part Audiofly). The combinations of the proper low-key, oceanside party arena and the scorching selections from each act made for a love heavy scenario which saw special appearances from dancing legend Bradley Gunn Raver and live stream favorite Green Shirt Guy.
As night fell, electronic music veterans Luciano, Art Department and Guy Gerber took the soundsystem by storm. Between Art Department’s acidic sunset session and Luciano’s visceral and moving nighttime ceremony, the curation of this purposeful and ardent event takes the cake as one of South Beach’s best offerings during Miami Music Week.
