X-Press 2 announce fifth album, ‘Thee’
The much-loved duo also revealed the another single from the album, ‘Zeven’
Darren Rock and Darren House, the remaining members of the revered X-Press 2 crew, will be releasing their fifth album on October 6, 'Thee'.
The release is the first on label Acid Jazz, on which the pair signed earlier this year. Two singles have already been released: ‘You Know (Everything)’ and ‘Muse’ — with the announcement accompanying the release of another album featured single, ‘Zeven’.
Since the early ‘90s, the group has long since been a vital part of UK club culture, with memorable tracks and collaborations like their Ivor Novello Award-winning chart topping track ‘Lazy’, which features David Byrne - the front man from art-rock band The Talking Heads - and era defining hits like ‘Muzik Xpress’ and ‘London Xpress.

Alongside this, the group's music has also been heard at high-brow fashion shows and events hosted by the likes of Givenchy, Rocky and Diesel.
“We’re so excited to be releasing ‘Thee’ with Acid Jazz.” said the group, “It’s been a long time coming, and some of the tracks have been with us for around ten years now. So it’s fantastic to finally get them finished and pulled together with a bunch of new tunes to form an entirely new album.“

‘Thee’ has been described as a “beefy, fad-free house music stripped back but full of flavour, emotional nuance and well-used vocal fragments”. Listen to ‘Zeven’ below, whilst the album’s pre-order link can be accessed here.
