US ice dancing pair win silver for Daft Punk routine at the Winter Olympics
The team free danced to snippets from ‘Random Access Memories’
On Sunday (February 6), US ice dancing competitors Madison Chock and Evan Bates skated to Daft Punk at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Dancing to Daft Punk’s final album, ‘Random Access Memories’, the pair were awarded a silver medal for their routine.

Including snippets from tracks ‘Within’, ‘Contact’, and ‘Touch’ the duo overtook the world’s reigning world champions, Japan to go from bronze to silver medal with the routine.
Chock and Bates also gained their personal best with the performance by gaining 129.07 points.
Daft Punk split in February 2021 after working together for 28-years.
Thomas Bangalter, of Daft Punk, announced last year that he will be scoring a new ballet called ‘Mythologies’ that will debut sometime in 2022.

According to an official description, the performance ‘explores contemporary rituals and the founding myths that shape the collective imagination’.
