Wigflex unveils programme for debut 24-hour party at Corsica Studios
Not only will a day-long party be a first for Wigflex, but also for the famous South London venue
Having kicked off its residency at Corsica Studios earlier this year, Wigflex will be hosting a 24-hour party at the venue on November 5.
The first of its kind to be hosted at the club, Wigflex proposes to bring its kaleidoscopic world down to London, having originated in Nottingham. As per a graphic novel, as the event rolls on, there is set to be an evolution of "scene changes and energy shifts": almost feeling as if there are two different parties across the weekend, being amalgamated into one 24-hour stint.
The Saturday evening programme will be faster and harder to fuel clubbers through the night, whilst Sunday will focus on warmer, "proggier, weirdo" sounds to see clubbers through the final stretch. There will be a closure of one of the venues's rooms on Sunday morning to give it a refresh, before a new programme of artists take control.

Also on the Sunday programming will be visual touches for attendees: there is an installation being installed by Matt Woodham and all/WITHIN exclusively during the afternoon, filling the room with cushions and beanbags providing a reset area for those going all the way and dancing the full timespan.
The DJ lineup is something to behold: there are Wigflex and Nottingham staples Mez & grandmixxer, Aurora Halal and mad miran to name just a few. There's also set to be a rare James Holden DJ set, plus slots from Emerald, Cooly G and Space Afrika.
"Doing a 24hr party has been a dream of ours basically for as long as Wigflex has been going," explains founder Lucas. "I remember going to Melt Fest back in 2007 and having my mind blown that we didn’t have to go bed until we actually wanted to. And to be able to kick off this inaugural day-to-night stint in our favourite spot in the city feels like a big ‘pinch me’ moment too. For those of you who know what we’re about, it’s the ones where we have time to go low and slow that have kept us in the game for this long.
"Being able to give our artists the freedom to take their time musically to explore and get deeper (instead of being crammed into a 90 min set) is where the magic really happens in our opinion. And without getting out that teeny tiny violin, we’ve spent the last 12 months thinking that we’d probably never have the financial means to put on another party again after the impact that Covid and Brexit had on us. So this one feels really special for all the right reasons. Happens to fall on Guy Fawkes night too and the irony of that definitely isn’t lost on us."

Ravers can also expect a provision of energy from a tuck shop located outside for refuelling, with the organisers also proposing a "traditional Sunday morning delight" of bloody marys and Wigflex's signature buckfast Negronis.
