Westival returns to the Welsh coast in July

Artists playing include Marcellus Pittman, Donna Leake, Peach and Esa

Westival returns to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in Wales from July 19 to 21.

The second edition of the intimate coastal festival, a sell-out last year, brings together artists like Marcellus Pittman, Mim Suleiman, Peach (pictured), Donna Leake, Esa and Australian DJ CC:DISCO!, who makes her Welsh debut.

There will also be extended sets, including a six-hour back-to-back from Dekmantel favourite Orpheu the Wizard and Jamie Tiller.

Westival's press release reads: "Artists are given plentiful time to perform, and are pushed to play beyond their comfort zone, crafting genre-weaving sets, which are encouraged, and preferred to one hour switchovers seen frequently in today’s music scene.

"This festival gives music fanatics a real chance to witness respected underground artists searching through the depths of their record collection with only a handful of other guests."

Other acts playing include Masalo, Afriquoi, Yaaba Funk, and local artists Autarchy Sound System and Harri Pepper.

A brand-new stage has been added to last year's stages and chill-out areas as the capacity is increased to 1500, double the number of last year due to ticket demand.

On Westival’s benefit to the local area, festival co-founder Joe Worley said: “In our case we are working with over 40 local businesses and almost 200 temporary staff, which will help boost the local economy.

“Music festivals offer a unique theme and a genre which allows for people of all music tastes to come together and see their favourite acts live.’’

Fellow founder Jack Lear said: “Where else are you going to get a festival this close to beaches with so many artists that have never played in Wales before?’’

Weekend camping tickets are currently available for £70, but if you want free entry, voluntary five-hour shifts are available, ranging from setting up and working in the car park to registration and litter picking.
