Watch rare footage of Ricardo Villalobos in Berghain’s Panorama Bar

Plus footage of the Chilean producer at work in his studio

Rare footage has surfaced of a 2008 performance by Ricardo Villalobos inside one of club culture’s most hallowed sites, Berghain’s Panorama Bar.

Featured in the 2009 documentary series titled ‘24h Berlin: Ein Tag Im Leben’, meaning "A Day In The Life", the film follows Villalobos from a session at his home studio working on his signature sound to his DJ set at the world-renowned venue.

The footage is particularly intriguing to the global dance music community as it’s not easy to find any images from inside the venue. As Pulse points out, upon entry to Berghain or Panorama Bar patrons are required to cover their phone cameras with a sticker and it’s anyone’s guess as to what bouncers do if they catch someone taking a photo.

As most of the material is focused on Villalobos himself, it’s difficult to get a sense of the crowd’s experience. That said, a few select shots allow for a nice snapshot.

Watch the video below to get a glimpse of Berghain’s Panorama Bar, and German speaking viewers enjoy the interviews as the documentary is not in English.
