A competition is looking for the next UK garage superstar
The winner of the competition will win a set at E1 London
London Sound Academy is partnering with Garage People to find the next big star in UK garage by launching a mixtape competition.
The competition winner will then be given time to perform a set at E1 London, warming up for the likes of Bklava, Champion, Drinks on Me, and more.
The London Sound Academy has called this chance a “career-changing opportunity” for musicians to break through into the expanding industry.

Speaking to Mixmag The London Sound Academy said; “We are asking for applicants to submit a 20-minute forward-thinking DJ mix including UKG and 2-step.”
To enter, applicants must be over 18 years of age. Applicants must copy the UKG Talent Search Artwork and upload a 20-minute UKG mix to Soundcloud or Mixcloud using the artwork.

DJ biographies, EPKs and press photos are encouraged where possible, stating “those who go the extra mile will get noticed”.
The deadline for applicants to submit a mix is October 29 and the winner will be announced on November 1.

Mixes will be judged by LSA and garage DJ and producer Ollie Rant, on criteria such as beat-matching, timing, EQ'ing and harmonics. They are also judging more technical and advanced skills such as dexterity including UKG style cutting and FX.
The LSA has stressed that equality and representation are at the core of what they do and that they welcome anyone over the age of 18 to apply.
