Two Shell and Sugababes collaborate on new single ‘Round’

The club heater features re-recorded vocals from the pop trio’s Number One hit ‘Round Round’

Current Mixmag cover stars Two Shell have linked up with iconic girl group Sugababes for their new single ‘Round’.

‘Round’ features fresh Sugababes vocals on a steamy club track, powered by Two Shell’s UK garage-influenced drums.

For the track, the British girl group re-recorded the vocals from their already huge hit ‘Round Round’ which took the nation by storm and reached UK #1 in August 2002. At the time Heidi Range was a member and sang on the track, having taking the place of Siobhán Donaghy, who is now back in place as a member alongside fellow original trio stars Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan.

The link up marks the first time Sugababes have re-recorded any of their classics, and they did so here "leaving a canny sense of recognition amongst the song’s composition”, with Two Shell masterfully re-working the source material into a choppy and high-paced piece of music, while retaining its timeless nostalgia.

Two Shell first debuted the track during a 2022 Hessle Audio guest mix which has had fans searching for it ever since, with a YouTube rip garnering 85,000 plays. The press release describes ‘Round’ as “V7 of one of the most beloved underground hits of the millennium, recalibrated to suit the progressive hive mind of Two Shell in a typically innovative form.”
