Third person dies following crowd crush at GloRilla concert

The 35-year-old woman died after being hospitalised after the incident

A third person has died following a crowd surge at a concert by rapper GloRilla.

The incident took place on the evening of March 5 in Rochester, New York, at the end of the US rapper's show.

35-year-old Aisha Stephens is the third person to die following the incident, having been hospitalised following the crush. Two other women - 33-year-old Rhondesia Belton and 35-year-old Brandy Miller died in hospital after being injured.

Following the event, GloRilla said she was unaware of the situation until after leaving the venue.

"I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show," she tweeted upon the news breaking of Belton and Miller's deaths. "My fans mean the world to me"... "praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected"

The incident has been described by he police as having "many reports of potential causes", those "including crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and more" although they state that there is no "evidence of gunshots being fired or anyone being shot or stabbed".

The venue, Main Street Armory, has had its licence revoked whilst an investigation takes place into the incident.
