There's a mixer that pairs as a PC in production
No more laptops at gigs?
The Invader is on the way, arriving both as a mixer and PC.
The work of turntablist DJ Qbert and DJ Hard Rich, the product made by Thud Rumble (QBert's company) is powered by Intel has Windows 10 installed on it. It can be used with Traktor, but, as Engadget points out, any Microsoft-compatible DJ software works with it.
Only in a prototype phase at the moment, displayed at an Intel IDF keynote, it's touchscreen and DJ Killa-Jewel hopes it'll means less baggage for DJs in future.
She says: "You don't want to be carrying your laptop around too. You have your whole life on that thing."
Upcoming developments include an audio interface from Native Instruments, a printed circuit board, switch to phono ability, three USB ports, and a HDMI socket.
When it's out at the end of the year, you'll be able to grab it for $1,699.
