A Prince museum is opening in Paisley Park

The Prince museum will finally be opening in Minnesota's Paisley Park on October 6.

The exhibition, which has been converted from the artist's iconic estate, will feature 12 rooms on the first floor of his home that have been strategically arranged to tell a special version of The Purple One's story. The commemorative museum was designed by Prince himself, making it an especially exciting installation and look into the icon's life.

The musician had left "detailed guidelines" on exactly how we wanted his memorial to be presented, including a strictly designed timeline of his career set for his fans.

Although the entire first floor will be open to the public, visitors will not be able to enter Prince's personal living space. The famed vault that locks away decades of unreleased art by the visionary will also be kept private, but estate administrator L. Londell McMillan promises that unheard material will be released in 2017.

Prince's team explains that the process has been long and strenuous. "We're still doing inventory, and we're still mourning," discloses sound engineer and longtime friend, Susan Rodgers. "We need to approach this with love and care and a high moral compass."

Prince's recording studios and nightclub will also be opening in the near future, with plans to host live performances.
