The Black Madonna says she “absolutely didn’t agree” to play Amazon festival

“My head is going to explode. I’m so furious right now” said the American artist

Amazon Web Services is launching a music festival called Intersect later this year, which is scheduled to take place across December 6 to 7 at Las Vegas Festival Grounds.

It’s billed as a music, art and tech festival, and features the likes of The Black Madonna, Jamie xx, Kaytranada. Thundercat, Max Cooper, Gesaffelstein and SOPHIE on the line-up.

The bill also promises “a drone light show celebrating women in tech in collaboration with Kacey Musgrave” called Uplift.

However, after the full line-up dropped yesterday, The Black Madonna has claimed she was not aware of Amazon’s involvement in the festival, writing: “My head is going to explode. I’m so furious right now.”

She added: “If you were shocked I’d play for Amazon, well that makes two of us. Please be patient and while I burn some bridges. Updates soon.”

Toronto-based DJ Ciel also wrote on Twitter that she “heard thru sources that this festival was put together thru an independent 3rd party and the artists didn't know that it was actually put on by Amazon."

Early branding for the festival contained no note of Amazon’s involvement
