Ten Walls dropped from Creamfields and Sonar, cancels all further shows
The Lithuanian has released a statement in light of his homophobic comments online
Ten Walls has been dropped from the line-ups of Sonar, Creamfields, Pitch and Urban Art Forms.
The festivals are reacting to homophobic comments that the Lithuanian artist made online last week.
Ten Walls, real name Marijus Adomaitis, now faces a growing backlash from events, artists and fans and this afternoon released a statement apologising for his comments and announcing that he'll be cancelling all forthcoming gigs.
Posted to his personal and artist Facebook profiles, it reads: "Last week I wrote a Facebook post that was wrong and completely out of character and the result was a badly written post that was unacceptable. It was never my intention to offend anyone. I'm really saddened by everything that has happened and I would like to apologise to everyone I've let down, especially to my friends in the gay community, and my fans. I now need to take a break and have cancelled my upcoming shows."
Adomaitis referred to LGBTI people as the "other breed', among some other particularly nasty things.
As we said in our original news story, homophobia and bigotry has no place in dance music.
