The Stranger Things season two trailer shows the trouble is not over for Will
With nods to Ghostbusters, The Lost Boys and Close Encounters of Third Kind
The Stranger Things season two trailer is finally here and promises a new, darker showcase of 80s sci-fi nostalgia.
Premiered at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, the trailer starts with the favourite foursome playing Dragon Lair at an arcade before the fun takes a turn and Will experiences some haunting from the monsters of the Upside Down (the dark parallel universe in which he was stuck for most of the first season).
As it's clear the trouble is not over for Will, Jim Hopper says "nothing is going to go back to the way it was, not really”.
Clips of eerie Halloween horrors are narrated by the classic Vincent Prince voiceover, followed by the more than relevant 'Thriller' by Michael Jackson.
The trailer closes with a tease for the anticipated return of Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven from the Upside Down that took her in the finale of season one.
The series' iconic synth-powered soundtrack ‘S U R V I V E’ was composed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein and released in two volumes last year. Kyle told The Vinyl Factory in March that “things are going to be a bit darker and weirder” In season two.
This season is set in 1985, a year on from the last. All episodes of Stranger Things season two will be on Netflix on October 27 just in time for the perfect Halloween binge.
