Spotify playlist: Perfect Set Openers
Start your set in style
Last month, you subscribed in your thousands to our Perfect Set Closers playlist on Spotify and we loaded you up with a wealth of heavy-artillery bangers that would earn a rapturous applause if you ended your set with them.
But what about the start of the set?
Let's flip the situation on its head. The DJ before you has dropped an absolute banger to end on and you're up next. There are several ways you could go with this. You either bring things back down considerably and reset the room, or you follow their lead and keep the pace and intensity up. Like with ending a set, opening one can be just as tricky of landscape to navigate.
Well guess what? We've got you covered again and we made sure all types of set are catered for. There's some mellowed out house in the form of 'Parlay' by Galcher Lustwerk and 'Lady Science' (NYC Sunrise) by Soul Capsule if you wanted to ease people in gently.
There's a decent helping of ambience and some sweeping instrumental tracks if you want to build up some suspense before you launch into your mega set. See Avalon Emerson's High Desert Synthapella edit of 'The Frontier' and 'Walking In The Night' by Nina Kraviz for those atmospheric numbers.
And of course, if you want to blow minds and faces simultaneously when you kick things off, we've got your back. Bleaker's 'Jam' is a drum-fuelled ripper and 'Lovin U' teases you with a serene opening before transforming into an acidic monster, both perfect for going in hard, early doors.
So feast on the perfect plethora of set openers and thank us later.
