Splice pay tribute to murdered producer Christina Yuna Lee

A vigil is being held in her honour in New York following her death

Digital music platform Splice has paid tribute to producer Christina Yuna Lee, who was murdered in her apartment in Chinatown, New York this weekend.

Lee served as a Senior Creative Producer for the brand, who released the following statement on Twitter: “Over the weekend our beloved Christina Lee was senselessly murdered in her home."

"Our hearts are broken. Always dedicated to making beautiful and inclusive artwork, Christina is irreplaceable."

"As we start to process this tragedy, we ask that you remember Christina Lee as the magical person she was, always filled with joy. We wish peace upon her family in their grief.”

CEO Steve Martocci echoed the company statement, writing: "We ask that you remember Christina Lee as the magical person she was, always filled with joy."

Former colleagues have also taken to the social media platform to share memories of Lee, with art dealer Eli Klein commenting: "The woman stalked and killed in Chinatown yesterday was Christina Lee."

"She worked for me for 4+ years and was the most amazing person in every way. I’m beside myself—overwhelmed with grief. I have no words right now but will be doing my best to honour Christina."

Lee’s death has sparked uproar across the city, marking one of the latest attacks against people of Asian descent. Vigils have been held in Chinatown to pay tribute to the 35-year-old Rutgers University graduate.

The suspect is 25-year-old Assamad Nash who has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly seen on security footage following Lee into her apartment, according to NewYork1.

The 35-year-old producer was found dead in her apartment, “bleeding from multiple wounds to her body” on Sunday after police were called to the apartment on Chrystie Street around 4:20AM.

Police have said that the suspect was found hiding under a bed in the apartment. The NYPD later charged Nash with murder and burglary on Monday morning. Officers have no reason to believe that the suspect knew Lee.
