Space Ghost gears up to drop next LP, ‘Private Paradise’

The Californian artist drops his fifth record next month on Pacific Rhythm

Space Ghost has revealed the release of his next album ‘Private Paradise’, coming next month via Pacific Rhythm.

The producer’s fifth full-length LP comes on March 31 marking the first release for the Canada-based label in 2022.

According to Space Ghost, the next record is an ode to his time spent at Sea Ranch along the coast of Northern California, just a stone's throw from where the house and disco artist grew up.

‘Private Paradise’ has been months in work, according to the producer, who’s been “sitting with these tracks for the last few years, and have patiently waited for their release.”

“Recorded in the early stages of the pandemic, this album is an ambient and meditative work, created while microdosing shrooms and reflecting on peaceful trips to nature getaways on the northern Californian coast,” he shared on Instagram.

The next album is said to be "something to truly trip out and relax to”, while his previous records took a club-ready approach with inspiration from old skool disco and house.

2018’s ‘Endless Light’ took from 80s funk minimalism and “analogue boogie” with “velvet pads, hood-rat sleaze, and heaped spoonfuls of soul”, while 2019’s ‘Aquarium Nightclub’ took listeners on “a tropical tour through 80s house drums, lush synth landscapes, and deep bass melodies.”

Just a year on from the release of his highly-acclaimed LP ‘Dance Planet’, the next record is set to be “deep, contemplative and uplifting”, with a more melodic approach.
