18 photos that prove Full Moon 2017 raised the bar for NYC boutique festivals

Sharp style and top-shelf music curation

This past weekend MATTE Projects brought its annual Full Moon Festival back to Governors Island.

The three-stage set up was the producer's biggest yet, taking full advantage of a new event site across massive grass fields adorned with ethereal art installations and interactive shops.

Full Moon's main stage presented Vic Mensa, Kalela, Larry Heard, Abra and more. The glimmering dome-shaped Solaar stage was the most standout, with a massive disco ball spinning above Axel Boman, DJ Harvey and Jeremy Underground. Kitsuné's beach-cabana styled showcase had Clara 3000, Patlok and Zimmer throwing top tunes upon a sand-covered dance floor.

MATTE's Full Moon, consistently applauded for its highly stylized fanbase and music curation, was a slick materialization of the NYC cool kid crowd. Great performances, sharp street style and glowing visual pieces made the creative team's boutique event the high standard for exclusive summer celebration.
