Skream will perform a one-off old school dubstep set
It's official, Skream is taking it back to dubstep for one set only
Skream has confirmed he will perform a one-off old school dubstep DJ set soon.
Having played an integral role in dubstep's global explosion with releases on influential labels like Big Apple Records, Tempa, Tectonic, Deep Medi Musik and Swamp 81, Skream announced that he had played his last dubstep show in 2013.
Skream would continue to be one of dance music's leading members however, showcasing his passion for house, techno and disco during his DJ sets and with material released on his label Of Unsound Mind.
When announcing that he was moving on from dubstep, Skream told the Daily Star about his decision: "It’s the last dubstep show I’ll play until further notice. Dubstep is just a name now. It doesn’t have a meaning any more and the movement is over. It’s like the end of a relationship but it’s ended on a high. I’ve done dubstep since I was 14 but there’s no way I’m going to be dictated to. I stopped because I’m not inspired by it any more.”
Now six years later and after fans of his early work begged for a return to his roots, Skream revealed on Twitter that he has confirmed a one-off old school dubstep set. That said, he has yet to share any specifics of this unique performance. Look for more information to surface soon.
