In a caption on Instagram posted by the organisation, they said: "As we discover the futures of the black genres and art we hold so dear, it is equally important we pay the right people to explore and preserve their pasts."

The project is supported by Youth Music and Arts Council England.

"This should only be the first step", says the organisation.

Rhythm Lab Records are an initiative who aim to pair up artists who wouldn't conventionally be found in the same space to see what unique projects they can create. The group are interested in collaboration in music and experimentation.
