SHERELLE’s BEAUTIFUL teams up with AIAIAI to open studio space and workshops

Efforts will support Black and queer artist development

SHERELLE has teamed up with audio design company AIAIAI to bring a new initiative for up-and-coming Black and queer artists in conjunction with the producer’s platform, BEAUTIFUL.

Launched in May 2021, BEAUTIFUL was created with Black and queer musicians in mind to provide workshops and equipment to those communities, also doubling as a label where artists can find the assets needed to build their careers.

Now, BEAUTIFUL’s next venture comes with the help of leading audio tech company AIAIAI where the pair will team up to create a new studio space, launch workshops, introduce a new academy and open a series of exhibitions.

The enormous project a week-long exhibition titled move/002 with fynn studio at Open House Hackney spread between two floors. The gallery celebrates the importance of Black and queer communities and their history within rave and club culture.

To welcome the exhibition, drum ’n’ bass pioneers Fabio and Grooverider will give an in-depth and career-spanning speech alongside photos from esteemed rave photographer Dave Swindells.

BEAUTIFUL and AIAIAI will also launch their brand new studio space for Black and LGBTQI+ artists where they will have access to tools, programmes, and equipment without the financial burden of other spaces.

“From being at Reprezent Radio, they taught me that you really had the ability to do whatever you wanted to do as long as you put your mind to it. And I think my time there has allowed me to have that ethos throughout,” SHERELLE said on the new partnership with AIAIAI.

“All the amazing work that BEAUTIFUL will be doing in regards to the studio, label, exhibitions and academy are there to cultivate the already rich and beautiful Black scene. We live in a time where music organisations are sparse, our governments are more concerned about making themselves richer. People are paying more for anything these days. Food, bills, rent, you name it.

"There are a lot of people who have the ambition to be in the scene but just need that extra push and inspiration to do so. With the BEAUTIFUL project, as the founder, I would love to make that path so much shorter. Less stressful.”
