Seth Troxler set to record the first Essential Mix in NYC at Output

After making the international jump to Los Angeles earlier this year, Pete Tong has announced he will be bringing BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix to NYC for the first time on September 23, headlined by none other than Seth Troxler, co-founder of the innovative Tuskegee imprint.

The location for the unprecedented session will be Output in Williamsburg, which Troxler has described as one of his favorite venues. “If you want underground music, there is nowhere better in America,” says the DJ and producer who held a quarterly residency there in 2014.

Pete Tong and BBC Radio 1 have been making a concentrated effort to explore American dance music culture through these unique on-location broadcasts. In January 2016 they held the inaugural US broadcast of the Essential Mix in Los Angeles with Richie Hawtin and guest appearances by Eric Prydz, Claude VonStroke, MK, Eats Everything and more.

Now as they switch coasts to NYC, Tong is excited to finally spotlight one of club culture’s most important cities. “This city has always been at the heart of global club culture,” says Tong, “and I’m delighted to be bringing the Essential Mix here to celebrate that with one of America’s finest underground DJs, Seth Troxler.”

Joining Tong and Troxler at Output on September 23 will be Dennis Ferrer, as well as local talents Eli Escobar and Nasser Baker.
