How to secure a ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2025

It’s that time of year again… That annual scramble to access the best wifi and set up anticipatory spreadsheets. In less than two weeks time, fingers will be poised above laptops and group chats will be pinging with the sounds of “Have you got though yet” and “I'm half way in the queue”. It’s the Glastonbury festival ticket sale.

With the recent announcement that this year’s booking system has changed, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide on how to secure a spot at next year’s edition.

Registration:

First things first, you must have registered for tickets before 5:PM GMT on Monday November 11.

This will give you the all-important registration number, which is essential in order to buy a ticket. You will also need to submit a glamorous passport-style photo for this.

If you think you are already registered, you can check and retrieve your registration details here. But make sure you do this before registration closes on Monday, to allow time to apply for a new one, if you need to.

Once you have your registration number, you’re ready to go.

Times and prices:

All tickets will be sold exclusively via glastonbury.seetickets.com

For those wishing to buy a coach journey with their ticket, bundles go on sale Thursday November 14 at 6:PM GMT.

These cost £378.50 (booking fee included), plus the price of the coach fare, which ranges from £47 to £162 depending on where you are travelling from.

If you are booking coach tickets, the coach fare must be paid upfront and the departure town must be the same for all tickets in one transaction. Also, travel on the coach is mandatory in order to receive your festival ticket.

After that, general sale tickets (without a coach) will go on sale Sunday November 17 at 9:AM GMT. These will be priced at £378.50 (booking fee included).

For all festival tickets, a £75 deposit is expected on booking, while the remainder must be paid by the first week of April 2025.

Changes to the queueing system:

This year, Glastonbury has applied some changes to its queueing system in an attempt to level out the chances of getting tickets by preventing people from gaming the system.

Now, instead of refreshing the site in the hopes of getting through to the booking section, customers will need to be on the page a few minutes before the sale opens.

Then, when the ticket sale begins, everyone who is already on the page will be randomly allocated a place in a queue.

Anyone who comes onto the page after that, will be automatically placed at the back of the queue.

So, it is really important you are on the website before the sale opens. It doesn’t matter how long before. Just make sure you are there.

Once you are in the queue, a progress bar will indicate how far along you are. Don’t refresh the page, as you might lose your place.

Under the new booking system, refreshing the page, using multiple devices or having different tabs open might actually harm your chances of getting tickets because it might look suspicious, triggering anti-bot software and getting your IP address blocked.

Booking the tickets:

Each customer can book up to six tickets per transaction. You will need the registration number and postcode for each person and you will have 10 minutes to enter all these details before your session expires.

So, it is a good idea to have easy access to everyone’s registration number and postcode before the tickets go on sale. That's where the spreadsheets come in handy.

Details cannot be changed once the transaction goes through, so make sure they are all correct.

Then, you will need to enter your payment details and complete check out, all within the 10 minute slot. Do not switch or close tabs, as you may lose the tickets.

Ensure you have access to any device needed to confirm security for the payment.

And that’s it! Pack your wellies, you're off to Glastonbury 2025...

For those who are not successful this time round, there will be a resale in Spring, with any returned tickets put back on sale.
