Secret Garden Party confirms 2022 dates and opens ticket registration

“We can now reveal that the most serious party will bloom again”

After a five year hiatus, Secret Garden Party is returning for its 20th anniversary.

Over the weekend, the festival revealed an end to its long countdown, which teased fans with the idea of the festival returning again. Speculation over what form the festival would return in was rife amongst fans.

"SGP has been reclaimed by the people and will bloom again 21st to 24th July 2022 in a new way,” the official Secret Garden Party page posted on Instagram today.

“It will have all the magic, splendour, frivolity and detail of the best days of The Garden, with brand new ideas, new collaborators, and things that just didn't exist five years ago.”

Secret Garden Party closed its doors for what was thought to be the final time in 2017. The immersive music festival had been running for 15 years and had grown from crowds of hundreds in its 2000’s beginning, to around 35,000 people by 2017.

The festival first teased a return after it ended, simply posting on Instagram, “So long, and thanks for playing. Insert credit to continue... TBC”, which was met with curious responses from fans.

The Cambridgeshire festival ground now plays host to We Out Here, which launched shortly after Secret Garden Party ended. The 'Head Gardener’ - as he’s known to festival-goers - or the organiser of SGP - stated that “it was just the right time” to end it after 15 years.

This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the festival. The bombshell announcement of its return first came on Monday, with pictures and speculation arising earlier in June.

“Following recent rumours and conjecture, hazy details from SGP HQ, and eventually a whistleblowing campaign from an underground group - we can now reveal that the most serious party will bloom again,” they concluded.
