Recondite announces seventh studio album, ‘Taum’
He dropped the first single from the compilation last week
Techno artist Recondite has announced his seventh studio album, ‘Taum’.
It’ll be released on his imprint Plangent on January 14, and consists of 11 tracks.
One of the album’s tracks, ‘Naif’, dropped last week - built on and around heavy drum beats.

On his upcoming release, Recondite tells Mixmag: "Taum portraits how I felt during the pandemic, tumbling from one emotion to another, with no creative drive whatsoever. Taumel (tumbling) and Traum (dream) together became 'Taum' - a state of uncertainty, up and down, hope and desperation."
"The track titles represent certain emotive states that go along with my personal interpretation of vibes within music. It is therefore quite a personal piece of work."

‘Taum’ mixes up both pastoral and urban influences.
It incorporates deep, melodic and meditative elements associated with the producer, but also involves edgier, darker beats - inspired by his lifelong love of hip-hop, grime and trap music.
