Premiere: Todd Terry revives his CLS moniker for a Strictly Rhythm return

'Lay It Down' is a modern take on a classic rave sound

You might know the Brooklyn pioneer Todd Terry through his own successful solo career, or as his former role in Masters at Work alongside legends Kenny Dope and Louie Vega or perhaps his CLS moniker, which he revives today as an homage for the honored Strictly Rhythm label.

It's a bit of a trip down memory lane for the brand new 'Lay It Down', which arrives exclusively on Mixmag ahead of its May 19 release. His rave classic 'Can You Feel It', released on the label in 1991 as CLS, became the gold standard and helped propel Strictly Rhythm up and forward as an influential imprint and home for house tunes.

Now, he's returned as CLS with the same raw, powerful energy for his brand new 'Lay It Down', which marks the label's 901st releasing following a milestone 900th release from Kenny Dope, making this a true family celebration. 'Lay It Down' is out on Strictly Rhythm on May 19.
