Premiere: Let Marc Romboy’s ‘Reconstructing Debussy’ take you on an overwhelming, orchestral adventure

Marc Romboy is nothing short of a dance music veteran, with decades worth of experience and finely-tuned skill up his sleeve.
The German artist is a techno visionary, never shying away from honing his work and refining his talents in new, fresh ways. In a collaboration last year, Marc joined forces with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra for a live reinterpretation of the works Claude Debussy, perhaps the most influential composer of the 20th Century.
The live performance was recorded in one-take at the Konzerhaus, Dortmund, and this year brings a chance to relive the experience as Marc unveils the next phase of the project. Out this month, ‘Reconstructing Debussy’ is a four-track release set to take you on an overwhelming, orchestral adventure through time and techno.
With particular focus on Debussy’s ‘La Mer’ suite, Marc’s forward-thinking offering reworks the boundaries between classical and electronic music. ‘La mer II - Jeux de vague – allegro’ is the track we’re streaming below. It’s a 17-minute foray into the original composition, juxtaposed with expansive new takes on the much-cherished music.
The album is the producer's first solo-full length cut in over eight years, and is available on Marc’s Hyperharmonic imprint. On it, he performs alongside the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Ingo-Martin Stadtmüller, concert master Miki Kekenj, and keyboardist Ali Khalaj.
