Premiere: Interstate shows out with a low-slung disco jam for Waxtefacts

The 18-year-old is about to drop his first solo EP

At just 18 years old, Interstate is quickly establishing himself as a name to watch.

Having earned a steady following on Soundcloud with bumping jams like ‘What My City Sounds Like’, he made his label debut for Waxtefacts last year. It’s a perfect match with Waxtefacts quickly becoming one of the most in demand underground house labels; their vinyl-only releases selling like hot cakes.

Interstate’s first release on Waxtefacts was ‘Vanice Beach’, a funky roller that owes as much to disco as the club. He’s followed that up in perfect fashion with a solo EP for the label.

Kicking that EP off is ‘Karl-Löwe-St. Groove (ft. Biroll)', a track that opens with melancholy piano before erupting in a blaze of searing disco samples packed to the rafters with funk and groove. It’s one for peak-time dancefloor destruction.
